Eastern Athletic Fields

Located in downtown Lansing, the Eastern High School athletic fields sit on 30 acres of significantly sloped land. The extreme hills, paired with low bearing soil strength and the odd shape of the property, limited the area available for development. By manipulating the topography and leaving select spaces undeveloped, all programmed features could be accommodated. The site now includes a state-of-the-art multi-purpose athletic events facility with tennis courts, practice fields, concessions, a baseball field, and—the pièce de résistance—a synthetic turf soccer and football field surrounded by an eight-lane running track.
