Peet’s Coffee Shop

The summer of 2019 marked two big changes for this Midwest institution: Calvin College became Calvin University, and the historic library got a new twist. C2AE helped with the second development—the transformation of a portion of the library’s main floor into a Peet’s Coffee shop. The new café serves as a collaborative zone for students, while the library’s upper levels continue to focus on quiet, individual work. A new entry vestibule in the library’s north wall enables direct outdoor access from the commons lawn without significantly altering the historic façade.
