Central Athletic Fields

Like its twin stadium at Portage Northern High School, this new athletic arena seats 4,000-plus spectators. Both were constructed as part of Portage Public Schools’ bond program.

This new stadium expands Central High School’s existing athletic events capabilities with a new football and track stadium. Fans are supported by a new press box, concessions, restrooms, and ticket booths. To the side, an augmentary synthetic turf field seats 800 additional spectators. This secondary multipurpose field is complete with a press box, concession stand, and restrooms. Designing adequate drainage for the stadium required close coordination with the City of Portage in order to meet standard criteria for the infiltration basin underground.
