Hot Stamp 5

Bowling Green, Ohio

Magna is a world-class automotive supplier with hundreds of manufacturing facilities throughout 28 countries. Among these facilities is VEHTEK Systems, Inc., a plant in Bowling Green, Ohio. In 2017, VEHTEK had four hot stamp lines used to press metal into shape for vehicle parts at a high temperature. C2AE was originally contracted to prepare a master plan outlining the addition of a fifth hot stamp line. Since that time, the firm was contracted to facilitate design, bidding, and construction of the press, pits, infrastructure, and an addition to house ancillary equipment and facilitate production flow.

The project added the 1,675 SF hot stamp line at the south end of VEHTEK’s northeast high bay near the four original presses. After ensuring that the high bay’s columns were properly supported for excavation, new press foundations were constructed. An existing tool room, die wash area, and truck dock were relocated to make way for the press pit. The addition incorporated new electrical mezzanines along with areas for hydraulics, press support, and cooling equipment.
