C2AE has assisted the Village of Mackinaw City in the construction of seven street, infrastructure and streetscape projects over the past ten years. These projects have included:
The Straits Avenue project involved a retail business district that needed to stay active throughout construction. Construction for the majority of these projects was completed either before Memorial Day or after Labor Day.
The W. Jamet, Nicolet and Central Avenue projects were all funded with MDOT TEA-21, Category A or Category D funding. The Nicolet Street and Central Avenue projects received Michigan Asphalt Paving/MDOT Awards of Excellence in the Urban Streets category.
Coordination for these projects included working with the Michigan Department of Transportation (M-108 is a State Highway and several projects impacted I-75 exit ramps), MDOT TEA-21 and Categories A & D for funding requirements, of course concerned retailer merchants.
The project elements for all projects included storm sewer and drainage improvements, aggregate base and HMA surface, concrete curb and gutter, paver sidewalk, decorative street lights, ornamental trees, waste receptacles and irrigation systems.
