LANSING, MI—July 26, 2011—C2AE, a full-service architectural, engineering, and planning design firm is pleased to announce the recent hire of two new employees: Melanie D. Joyner, PHR and Scott O. Floyd, PE.
Melanie Joyner, a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) was hired as Human Resources Director. Melanie brings over 11 years of experience performing and managing human resource functions, including classification and compensation, benefit administration, recruitment and retention, performance management, and training & development. She has worked in a variety of work environments, including higher education and the public sector.
Her background includes most recently working with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as the Director of Academic Personnel, where she was responsible for the oversight and delivery of human resources services for approximately 3500 faculty employees. Prior to that, she worked with the Virginia Department of Transportation, Ikon Office Solutions, and Carol Wood Healthcare Facility.
Melanie earned her Masters of Science Degree in Human Resources from Western Carolina University in North Carolina, where she was involved in several organizations and participated in a variety of community support and human resource committees.
Scott Floyd, PE, LC, LEED® AP joins C2AE as an Electrical Engineer, with over 13 years of design experience. As a certified Lighting Consultant, Scott has designed and managed a variety of projects including power and lighting systems for commercial, light industrial, apartments and high-end residential buildings.
He also has experience performing quality control review of electrical inspector documentation as well as evaluating buildings for energy efficiency, and the design and management of prototypes.
Scott earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University; he is licensed in the states of Michigan, Illinois, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.
