LANSING, MI—October 23, 2007—C2AE officials are celebrating the recent completion of two multimillion dollar projects at the Battle Creek Air National Guard base that the full-service engineering, architecture and planning firm helped design. Craig Jansen, P.E., a C2AE Engineer and the Project Manager, and Matt Jarvi, P.E., a Principal of the firm, represented the company at the October 12 open house that was held at the base to celebrate the completion of the $4.9 million renovation and addition to the FireCrash/Rescue Station and the nearly completed $5.6 million Composite Civil Engineering Complex building.
C2AE, which has offices in Lansing, Grand Rapids and Gaylord, teamed with subcontractor Eckert Wordell Architects of Kalamazoo to provide design and construction services for the Composite Civil Engineering Complex building. The new 29,000 square-foot facility includes areas for administration, maintenance shops, pavements and grounds, general storage,disaster preparation and mobility storage. Mechanical and electrical equipment was placed in a new mechanical mezzanine.
C2AE also provided design and construction services for the 22,000 square-foot addition and renovation to the Fire Crash/Rescue Station that was built in 1992. The work on the building included the construction of a new administration wing to house dorm rooms, a workout room, alarm center, dining facility and offices. In addition, a new apparatus bay was built and existing bays were expanded. Work also took place on the electrical and mechanical systems, and storm and sanitary services.
