LANSING, MI—May 14, 2009—C2AE is pleased to announce the addition of six new employees to its Lansing and Grand Rapids offices: Glenn Burkhardt, PE, Mark Vysoky, RLA, Judson Brood, Abigail Larimer, Derek Ambs, and Robert (Rob) Farrier.
Glenn Burkhardt was hired to fill a newly created position – Director of Environmental Services. Mr. Burkhardt has over 37 years experience in the planning, design, construction, management, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment systems. He has assisted approximately 30 Lower and Upper Peninsula communities, including the City of Chelsea, the City of Grand Rapids, the City of Lansing, and the City of Port Huron. Most recently, Glenn owned and operated his own consulting service business, Engineered Logic, LLC. Prior to his consulting business, he served in management as Director of Engineering for firms such as Atwell Hicks, Tetra Tech, and McNamee, Porter & Seeley. Glenn earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Mark Vysoky, RLA, ASLA brings a wealth of expertise and background to the Landscape Architecture team. Hired as Project Manager, Mark has extensive experience in the planning and design of county parks, recreational facilities, and urban planning and design. Most recently he served as Parks Project Manager in Sammamish, WA, and was self-employed as a Landscape Architect in the Grand Rapids area. Mark served as Park Development Manager for the Kent County Parks Department for three years, where he was responsible for the planning, design, and development of Kent County Parks, including Millennium Park, an award-winning $7.5 million project. Mark earned his BSLA from the College of Engineering from Ohio State University.
Judson Brood works with the C2AE Education Team as an Architectural Technician. Judson graduated in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University. He also has an Associates Degree in Applied Arts and Science ‘Architectural Drafting Technology’ from Grand Rapids Community College.
Abigail Larimer, Interior Designer for the Health Care Services Team holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art & Design from Grand Valley State University, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Kendall College of Art & Design, and is working on her Master of Arts in Communication & Leadership degree from Gonzaga University. Ms. Larimer previously worked with Design Plus, Inc., Progressive Architecture, and Herman Miller, Inc. as an Interior Design intern.
Robert Farrier joins C2AE as a Survey Technician. Rob has over 18 years of surveying experience. He was previously with KEBS, Inc., a civil engineering and land surveying firm located in Lansing. His experience lies in lot surveys, flood plain determination, boundary surveys, as well as topographical surveys on vacant and improved properties and highways.
Derek Ambs hired in as an Engineer Technician. He is currently attending Michigan State University and is expected to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the end of May 2009.
