LANSING, MI—June 25, 2008—C2AE is pleased to announce that Charles (Rusti) Owens, RLA, ASLA will serve as a grader for the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.). The grading sessions will be held in Palm Springs, CA.

Serving as the Director of Landscape Architecture, Planning, and Civil team for C2AE, Rusti has over 24 years of experience; his expertise includes design and coordination of large scale multi-discipline land/facility development with special emphasis on transportation planning and context sensitive design applications.

Rusti’s team offers and specializes in a wide range of services including:  site/civil, landscape architectural and infrastructure planning, analysis and design.  The team also provides specialized services including land-use and transportation planning, recreational facility planning and design, site and parking development, storm water design, airport planning and design, as well as others.

The L.A.R.E. is prepared by the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB)'s Examination Committee, which is comprised of landscape architect volunteers from across the U.S. and Canada. All graders must be licensed landscape architects with at least five years experience.  It is designed to determine whether applicants for landscape architectural licensure possess sufficient knowledge, skills and abilities to provide landscape architectural services without endangering the health, safety and welfare of the public.

The L.A.R.E exam consists of five (5) test sections.  Rusti will be grading Section E – Grading, Drainage and Stormwater Management, which is one of two graphic sections.  Applicants are tested on their ability to complete grading, drainage and stormwater management plans graphically.  For more information regarding CLARB and the L.A.R.E. exam, visit www.clarb.org.
