With the New Office Also Comes New Employees
LANSING, MI—June 2, 2009—C2AE today announced the opening of a new office in Escanaba, Michigan. The grand opening/ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, June 4th at 4:00 pm. The Escanaba office is located at: 1211 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.
“Despite the current status of Michigan’s economy, we made the strategic decision that opening this office would provide us with major growth opportunities”, says Ray Tadgerson, C2AE Chairman and CEO. “This is an exciting time for us, one that we felt we couldn’t pass up – the timing seemed just right. Our Escanaba team members are all accomplished individuals, and have great reputations for serving the Northern Michigan communities”, continued Tadgerson.
To operate the new office, C2AE has hired four new employees: Randy Scott, PE, Charles Lawson, PE, David Cain, and Kristen Farrell, PE, CCCA, all of which have tremendous experience serving municipal clients in the Upper Peninsula, Northern Michigan, and Wisconsin, most notably on water and wastewater projects. This office will focus primarily on the planning, design, and improvements of wastewater collection and treatment systems, in addition to other water treatment and distribution services, and stormwater management and studies. This team also brings significant experience in assisting clients with project funding from various regulatory agencies including USDA-RD, MDEQ-SRF, MDEQ-DWRF, Wisconsin DNR & USDA, EDA, and EDC.
Serving as the Director of Escanaba Operations is Randy Scott, PE. Mr. Scott has over 30 years of experience providing project management and professional engineering services for clients in Northern Michigan and the State of Wisconsin. Randy is responsible for client relations, funding acquisition, project and contract administration, regulatory agency negotiations, as well as QA/QC. Randy has served in significant management roles for multiple engineering firms in the past. He earned his MBA from Lake Superior State University, and his BSCE in Environmental Science from the University of Michigan.
Charles (Chuck) Lawson, PE will split his duties by serving as a Project Manager and Construction Coordinator. Chuck has over 20 years of experience in engineering and construction management, construction engineering, and general and mechanical contracting. Most recently, Chuck has served as Project Director for various engineering firms where he was responsible for all staff and technicians providing consulting services. He also has experience in water and wastewater, environmental, groundwater cleanup, and materials testing. Chuck earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
Also hired as a Project Manager for the new office is David (Dave) Cain. Dave brings with him over 30 years of experience in utility project planning, design, management/construction engineering, and QA/QC. He is also skilled in all aspects of project funding and management, as well as proposals and estimating, and management and standards development. Dave earned his BS in Industrial Education from Central Michigan University, and has continued his studies in Mechanical Engineering at Michigan Technological University, and also Surveying at the University of Wisconsin.
The most recent hire for Escanaba, Kristen Farrell, PE, CCCA has nine years of previous experience as a Civil Engineer. Ms. Farrell was the lead Resident Project Representative (RPR) on several large projects throughout the Upper Peninsula, including a multi-million dollar Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) project, in which she was also the utility designer for the project. Kristen is a Construction Documents Technologist and Certified Construction Contracts Administrator. She is a registered PE in Michigan, as well as Wisconsin and received her BS in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
