LANSING, MI—January 27, 2010—C2AE announced today that current Chairman and CEO, Raymond Tadgerson is retiring after 39 + years with the firm. He will remain with the firm in a reduced capacity, serving as Director of Marketing and Business Development.
Tadgerson began his career with the firm, then Capital Consultants, Inc., in 1970 as a draftsman while a student and began full-time in 1973 after graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. In 1978 he obtained his Master’s degree in Civil/Sanitary Engineering with a minor in Management.
He worked closely with several Michigan communities, serving as Project Engineer, Project Manager and as Manager of Operations. In 1989 he was promoted to President and Chairman/CEO/President in 1990.
Under Tadgerson’s leadership, the firm has grown steadily over the past 20 years by adding new services, opening additional offices, and merging with Grand-Rapids based architecture firm DesignWorks A/E in 2005. In 2007, the firm changed its name and began doing business as C2AE. Originally from the Upper Peninsula (Sault Ste. Marie), Ray now resides in DeWitt with his wife Dianne. He has two sons, and four grandchildren.

Assuming the Chairman and CEO role is current President and Chief Operations Officer, William (Bill) J. Kimble. These changes will take place simultaneously, effective March 1, 2010.
Kimble has been with the firm for 20 years, starting in December 1990 shortly after graduating from Wayne State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Water/Wastewater Engineering. Kimble also completed the Engineering 3-2 program at Kalamazoo College in 1988, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics.
Shortly after starting with the firm, Bill was assigned as the lead designer for the City of Lansing’s Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) sewer separation project, and also served as Project Manager for many other communities.
Kimble was promoted several times in the past 10 years, initially as the Director of Operations for the West Michigan (Grand Rapids) office in 2000, where he was responsible for the civil, building services and construction engineering staff, as well as planning and administration, client relations, business development, and client project management.
In 2005, Bill was named Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the firm’s project staffing, operating standards, and staff training & development, while also serving as the Director of the civil, transportation, and construction administration staff, and Operations management of the firm. In 2007, Kimble was promoted to President.
